as our breath,  manning the pumping

of our heart, actors on the stage

inside, always present, dragging

our mutual lives behind us

until…until…

  • These travelers only show themselves briefly as they stroll the edge of the veil between overlapping dimensions. We see them in our home often.

  • As I read, I wanted to know which of the sculptures was speaking for the group. I think it’s that last one, only half emerged from the ground, which makes me think he refers to those still to come behind him.
