In Athens County – for d’Verse Poets

For five dollars they’ll let you kill a bobcat

in Athens County this year.

Not so different than kitty cats, I hear.

Why not? More executions,

classroom shootings…

racial persecutions

vengeful solutions.

my child is missing

caught her kissing

bury her deep.

About Nan Mykel

At 79, I was just about to stop keeping a journal, but that felt like accepting that growth was finished. I don't want to be finished, yet! I'm 80 now, and struggling to communicate with you, if you'll come and set awhile. P.S. My how time flies! I'm 82 now.

  9. Guns are a plague and the NRA is way too powerful. We will never be free of them in the US because the NRA members are in our government.
