Oh wow, Nan! My husband brought back photos of these statues from Wroclav and I posted a poem about it last year! He’s taking me to Wroclav in November and I can’t wait to look around the city at the statuary and the gnomes, I love this poem!

As I read, I wanted to know which of the sculptures was speaking for the group. I think it’s that last one, only half emerged from the ground, which makes me think he refers to those still to come behind him.
