IMAGINE: THIS RAPIST’S FOETUS IS MORE VALUED THAN I AM?

Published July 24, 2022 by Nan Mykel

Rape is horrifying and messy, and sometimes it’s easier to disbelieve that it happens at all. But that option isn’t open to victims of rape and sexual assault.

Denying rape means believing that victims are lying. It means denying their humanity and worth. And it’s a denial that has been made far too easy by thousands of years of habit.

With the cost of being raped increasing exponentially…

That’s right!  Why on earth are we punishing rape victims instead of comforting and protecting them?  I wonder how many female rape victims are planning to vote Republican?  You think about it, girl!

What kind of legal protection is available for women?  Can you imagine birthing your rapist’s baby?  My, this culture has turned  ugly!

Remember, women’s method of self protection needs to be legal.  Some may think it fortunate that it’s easy to buy protection now, thanks to the NRA.  What kind of protective device might work best, in case of a need to protect yourself? I’ve read that M-16s are easy to shoot–like a bb gun–and designed to disable but not necessarily to kill.  I reckon the gunshop owners would give you more info.

It’s nothing I’m recommending, mind you, but I can imagine how one might feel to have the establishment making you pay for having been raped. It must feel like scooping salt onto an open wound.

”CENTRAL PARK FIVE” = “THE EXONERATED FIVE”

This is a ‘must watch‘!

The story of stolen innocence, childhood and youth due to an entirely flawed system associated to bias, racism and inequality.

🙏🏽 … ‘They’d already spent years of their lives incarcerated for a crime they didn’t commit.

Yuseff Salaam was released in March 1997 after serving seven years and 11 months, Kevin Richardson was released in June 1997 after serving eight years and two months, Antron McCray was released in September 1996 after serving seven years and five months and Raymond Santana was released in December 1995 after serving six years and eight months. By the time Reyes confessed, Korey Wise had spent 13 years and three months behind bars.

It’s now known that the true perpetrator was Matías Reyes, a serial rapist who was in prison when he confessed to the crime in 2002.

As ‘When They See Us‘ masterfully illustrates, the Central Park Fiveare a tragic example of the flaws in our justice system and the manner in which prosecutors and detectives exploited these flaws and used the city and country’s racial tensions to their advantage.

As a result, five children spent the majority of their teen years in prison for a crime they didn’t commit, and it’s important to remember that they are victims as well.’ … 🙏🏽

Does the sex with the most empathy always lose?

We have learned that backlash follows backlash. But have we lived through a time of backlashes actively fighting one another simultaneously?

One official says that you can’t be a victim after 40 years [oh yeah? How about 70 years?] I understand this regime scores low on knowledge of history and even reading, but surely they must have soaked up something of women being afraid to report rape due to negative response and treatment, and a blemish on her reputation.  For underage children there’s something called the Child Sexual Abuse Syndrome, in which when children do report, family pressures them to recant. Now at the same time that mysogynism has raised its head in daylight from murky waters again,  even sitting on its own throne,  a good many women are responding with alarm to the additional loss in dignity and rights they have lost and are continuing to lose.  At times I can’t figure Betsy DeVos out, with her greatest concern about perpetrators. I guess she can see which way the president is pushing. Good girl, a pat on the bottom for you!

LOOKS DON’T MATTER

She stoops, sags a little and has a mole.

NOR DO THOUGHTS.

Murderous fantasies overwhelm her at times.

BEHAVIOR CAN BE CHANGED.

Old patterns of obsequiousness remain.

SEX ISN’T EVERYTHING.

She was raped, at eleven, by her uncle.

IT IS THE SPIRIT

THAT DEFINES

The woman.
