A COUPLA MORE FOR THE TRASH BIN

Published October 26, 2016 by Nan Mykel

IF

If the circle can be believed, we are one with all, together, safe and contained.still-3

If the mandala mirrors truth, we rise and fall within our connected minds.

If we believe the spiral, we know that we return again and again to revisit our challenges.

Or the ancient maze,  where searching, we find our way or are lost,

ANOTHER IF

If you were a red light

and I were the green

we would never be blue.

If you were a brook

and I was a raindrop

I’d lose myself in you.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

If God had a tattoo, what would it say?

HOLD ON TIGHT!

Alternet Headlines (replies@alternet.org) reports that  but as election law expert Rick Hasen told the Washington Post, even if there’s no coordinated intimidation, one of the things this rhetoric can do is “get rogue people riled up. Trump sets the fuse and lets someone else do the explosion. It strikes me as a very dangerous thing to be suggesting, because it does lend itself to the possibility of violence at the polls.”

[Or AFTER it, if it goes against Trump.]  I don’t think anyone is verbalizing it, but if he wanted to ride into the white house on the wave of a revolution, he seems to have scripted it. In the white house with his own tv network?  Saints preserve us.

I’m Back

Published October 26, 2016 by Nan Mykel

Back after several days with a computer whose keyboard wouldn’t write on the monitor.  I’m creeping along trying to sort my hoard. In case  you don’t believe me, here’s a few horrid lines that I’m not going to save:

DINNER                                                                                                               sad old pix

If you were a vulture

and I was dead meat,

you would have something to eat.

IT’S MONEY, STUPID

Eeny meanie miney money.

Gotta get some for my honey.

.

A CAT IS A CAT IS A CAT

My cat he looks like he could cry.

His eyes meet mine; he gives a sigh.

He licks his paw and gives a mew

as other cats are wont to do,

but also wonders, “Who am I?”

A SURLY SIMILE

My emotions are like sandpaper today.

Rub me wrong if you don’t believe it.

Old Soldier – for D’Verse

Published October 20, 2016 by Nan Mykel

He knew he was crotchety.

He’d forgotten how to love.

His cane held him upright and

allowed him to kick at stones

along the winding path home.

He wanted for nothing but

stones to kick and maybe a

bone to pick once he arrived.

Being crotchety was safe.

He knew it and they knew it,

and at night after supper

he could be found down

in his old soldier’s fox hole.

DREAM 10-19-2016 ***

Published October 19, 2016 by Nan Mykel

For the first time ever I dreamed I expressed myself furiously at my mother, saying she hated me and later in the dream I said that maybe it was because of the incest, to which she did not reply.  There was something else about being outside and seeing something on the arbor that might have been a snake. I asked a man  seated n a chair outside to see if it was a snake.  It expanded in size and there was something funny about it. I can’t recall what it really was, only some humor attached. During the dream, earlier, I was furious at my mother for not picking up after herself, but letting the house get messy and I was supposed to pick up her mess.

If You Own a Dog, Here is a Helpful Bit of Advice — a re-blog

This is off-topic. It is for dog owners only.

Those who have read this blog for a long while know that I have a dog and a cat, and I take very good care of them.

Ever since I got my big mutt named Mitzi, she has had a tendency towards diarrhea. As a puppy, she had giardia, which is a fancy way to say that her intestines are prone to diarrhea.

For a year or so, I took her to the vet and almost always got a prescription for a pill called metronidazole. That always works for her.

Then the woman who boards her when I travel told me a secret. Metronidazole is sold over the counter and online as Fish Zole. It is used to cure bacteria in fish (i.e., the kind in aquariums). I have since ordered it online, saving huge amounts of money in vet bills…
