After witnessing almost half my country (including perhaps most evangelicals) embrace lies from a false prophet so easily, I find myself wondering if all orthodox religions might be a holdover from primitive mythologies. Is the Christian trinity but a remnant from an ancient pantheon of gods? Some want to unite church and state. I guess that’s what the crusades were all about: power. As for me, I’m glad if you have a god you can trust. I’m happy for you. Hang onto him/her/them/it.

I see religion much as Marx did … a way of manipulating the masses. But, I have to ask, Nan … that dog in the picture … is that a tail growing out of his forehead?

Yes! Second time I’ve posted that photo. Vets studied it and there seemed to be no reason to amputate it, so they left it. He has a longer tail at the other end. I don’t think the tail in front wags. He’s well adopted by loving folks. I posted it to kinda remind folks that evolution remains mysteriously amazing.

What a wonderful quirk of nature … he’s sooo cute, and I’m glad he has a good home. Yes, nature is always a mystery!
