Jill Dennison Excerpt

Published September 5, 2020 by Nan Mykel

The latest thing to send me into a fit of temper is Trump’s order to Russell Vought, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, to cease the government’s racial sensitivity training. Trump calls such training “un-American propaganda”. That’s right, folks … it is un-American to try to teach people not to discriminate, to try to remove the systemic racism that exists within our government and law enforcement community. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. 🤬

  • Nan, and his supporters say “he is not a racist.” If he is not, then he needs to stop doing and saying racist things. Of course, Donald J. Trump is a racist. The evidence is overwhelming.

But, here is an easy example. A president who is not a racist would condemn racist violence. and try to calm the waters. Novak Djokovic, the best male tennis player in the world screwed up and was suspended from the rest of the US Open, that he would have likely won. The poor line judge who was wounded in the throat by Djokovic’s angrily struck tennis ball has received death threats. Yes, the victim has received death threats. To Djokovic’s credit, he told his fans to stop that crap.

Now, think of the many times the US president has incited violent behavior. Has he come out with emphasis to say stop that crap? No, he says it is not his fault.

This example speaks volumes about the lack of character in the US president. Keith

    • I don’t know why I thought Novak was a woman. Now I wonder if the line judge was black. I guess it’s easier to refer to a black person in the news than specify that a person is white. I never saw or heard the race of the mentally ill man shot by the Secret Service on Pennsylvania Avenue–nor what Trump’s brother died of. Wouldn’t it be something if it was Covid! You’re right. he calls the violent agressors “good people.”
