THERE ARE EVEN OTHER KINDS OF CHILD ABUSE…

“Wildly alone” — so apt! Wish I could do something to help. Blogging and fighting for yourself, as you said, surely demonstrates survivor strength! I’m reblogging.

About Nan Mykel

At 79, I was just about to stop keeping a journal, but that felt like accepting that growth was finished. I don't want to be finished, yet! I'm 80 now, and struggling to communicate with you, if you'll come and set awhile. P.S. My how time flies! I'm 82 now.

  1. This is true. Because there should not be sexual abuse victims or survivors, because there should be no sexual abuse, and yet there is, so the world is savage with them. Thank you for speaking up xo

I totally agree. Nor any other kind of abused child. Nor abused adult, but children are especially vulnerable due to the power differential and lack of knowledge. Hopefully no one would say “she deserved it” of a sexually abused child, but as the author notes, it’s easy for cases of reports of even extreme physical abuse of children to be brushed aside as “he or she probably deserved it.” In both situations, however, the child may not be believed but punished again for lying and pressured to recant.
