Published September 13, 2018 by Nan MykelHe has stripped Ameica’s protection agencies of $200 million. I was suspicious earlier when he wanted to quit security checks at small airports, but now “FEAR” makes more sense.
Agencies weakened, in addition to FEMA, include the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers, the Coast Guard, the Transportation Security Administration, the cybersecurity office, and Customs and Border Protection.

Jeff Merkley (D-OR) revealed to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow that President Donald Trump funneled nearly $10 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a decision with increasingly terrible optics as a massive hurricane bears down on the Carolinas.

A lightning bolt would have struck Trump today when he said FEMA’s response to Puerto Rico was “one of the best, ever.” I seriously wonder if he has ever had an MRI of the brain.
It would be sad if he has a brain tumor, but an explanation for his sitting there and bragging on our response. (Remember him throwing paper towels at the victims?)

Published September 10, 2018 by Nan MykelMany are saying the N.Y. Times op ed anonymous author should stand up like a man, resign, and tell all. That sounds moral, upstanding, even patriotic. But can we not put ourselves in his place without preaching about him?
- If he resigns and tells all, who will be left minding the self destructive baby in the lengthy meantime?
- He’s trapped by survival concerns for himself, me, you and America.
- He’s sending SOS signals from a sinking ship, taking on his shoulders the lonely and dangerous task of asking for help without extinguishing the source of the SOS.
- He must be discouraged that his courageous end-of-the-rope ploy is criticized, not heeded, and certainly not processed at its level of desperation.
- Do we really want access to the button to global annihilation so tempting in a tantrum>?

I apologize. I failed to include one truth from my book Fallout: A Survivor Talks to Incest Offenders and Others. I was afraid one piece of truth I came across might be destructive to victims of severe sexual abuse in childhood, and I didn’t want to depress them even further. I have since realized that it may be important for those survivors to know and understand the full effects, which are reflected in the following:

Bower, Science News of the Week, Vol. 147 June 3, 1995. “Two new brain-imaging studies, conducted independently, indicate that severe, repeated sexual abuse in childhood underlies damage to a brain structure that helps to orchestrate memory. This cerebral injury may predispose people to experience an altered state of consciousness known as dissociation and to develop symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)”….They had remarkably smaller…
