According to the Associated Press, the Army has begun discharging immigrant soldiers and recruits who enlisted through a special program that would put them on a path to citizenship.
The AP was unable to find out how many immigrants have been discharged, but immigration attorneys said more than 40 have either been discharged or left with an uncertain enlistment status. “Some of the service members say they were not told why they were being discharged,” the AP reported. “Others who pressed for answers said the Army informed them they’d been labeled as security risks because they have relatives abroad or because the Defense Department had not completed background checks on them.”

If they are legal US citizens how on earth can they be discharged. If they are going to discharge immigrants that are citizens then they’d have to discharge most of them wouldn’t they. I mean aren’t we all immigrants in one way or another? My grandparents came over after the holocaust from Russia and Romania, Jews, so they were immigrants. Well I guess I was born here but …geez now I’m rambling. I just don’t understand things in politics lately like legitimately don’t understand who’s doing what and why

I think they were immigrants who sought citizenship and were told that a way to get it would be to enlist in our armed services…
