Felix’s Poem

BIRTHDAY BLUES VS.BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS

I’m an octogenarian of 85.

My antiquity astonishes me.

I’ve got three types of cancer.

I don’t see, hear, or walk well.

I’m a medical dumpster fire,

a near senile, geriatric elder,

doddering, decrepit, obsolete,

out-of-date, far past my prime.

Still I embrace my life’s remnants.

Never has time been more valued,

nature’s splendor more precious,

loved ones more deeply cherished.

I now take life day by day,

savoring each dawn as a gift.

Living is intensely relished.

I intend to try lingering longer.

“O”

There goes my mind! Catch it!

Though we all learn our ABC’s,

some words rarely reach our lips.

There’s the “B” word, the “C” word, the

“D” word, the other “D” word, the “F”

word, the “N” word and the “Q” word.

Can you add more?  Oh right, the “RIP”

wordlet. My son just corrected me

erroneous “colored town” spoken due to

my limited other “D” days, but that stuff

don’t stop me,  Only if you’re a poet

is the limitation exacerbating. At 85, I

missed early onset.  If you don’t know

what I’m talking about, lucky you.

Do you know what…..

How did you find out? …or “I don’t either.”

It’s on everyone’s Gravitar page, I guess.

When will I ever get young enough to understand this magical technological world?
