has your computer slowed or it just mine?

Another paranoia checking here.

SOLVED–I restarted my computer and the problem was resolved. (While re-starting hold on/off switch down 10 seconds.  Elemenetary stuff which I’ve forgotten if I ever knew. Troublesome ads because I permitted notifications to post.

INSIDE ME

INSIDE MYSELF
Self-quarantined, alone, at home,                                                                                                    furnishings reflect me to me.                                                                                                              Collages line my walls but the                                                                                                         lens on my telescope has cracked.
I see no end. Afraid, I stay
inside with the computer
named Agnes who, in a former
life, may have been my nemesis.
Not for me the yoga one-leg
stance, though inside, my Inner Child
wants out. At last, I heed
her need—
walk the floor,
open the door.

WILL OF THE WISP

Published May 14, 2020 by Nan Mykel

WILL  OF  THE  WISP :   THE  MYSTERY

You guessed it, didn’t you—that I am drawn inside because

I feel the pull of the mysterious, a curiosity about the edge of

the known, bordered by the little-known and the unknown-

but-sensed  as well as the unsuspected  and the impossible.  How

utterly deadly life would be if there were no mystery—

everything cut and dried and shelved.  Do you know about the

angler  fish and the flying monk, or esp at the time of death? And

have you felt the insistent throb of curiosity  at certain quiet

moments?  How is it that being in nature soothes, the effect being

measurable by scientists?  The life of the invisible “mind” goes on,

experienced or not, or not yet.

IF I SHOULD DIE WHILE I’M AWAKE…

Will I go seeking absolution,

dragged down by the shackles

of sin in my swollen belly, or

ship out soundlessly from my berth

into the eternal matrix

where sins are but a fleet of

rubber duckies?

We’re Running Out of Toilet Paper!

We all know the trials and tribulations that we have all experienced during this difficult time of the COVID pandemic. During the time that people were frantically going to stores and buying out certain items…such a toilet paper, I came across the following poem on Poetry 4 Kids. I thought this would be something fun to share! Enjoy!

We’re Running Out of Toilet Paper

We’re running out of toilet paper.
Paper towels too.
We haven’t got much Kleenex left.
I’m not sure what we’ll do.

We tried to buy some yesterday.
We went to every shop,
but all the shelves were barren
from the bottom to the top.

We called our friends to see
if they had extra we could borrow,
but they said they have just enough
to last until tomorrow.

Our roll is almost empty now.
A solitary square
is hanging on the holder and
it’s…

White Americans must speak out against white racism

The following was written by Pastor John Pavlovitz at john.pavlovitz.com in Wake Forest. I have shared his writings before and his words resonate with more than just me.

“Ahmaud Arbery is dead because he was a black man.
He was hunted down by two white strangers in broad daylight because he was two things: he was black and running, which was enough reason for them to grab weapons and get in their truck and chase him down and assassinate him in the road.
Being black and running was Ahmaud’s crime.
To some white people, you can’t be black and running,
you can’t be black and standing outside a convenience store.
you can’t be black and sitting in your car eating lunch,
you can’t be black and playing in a park,
you can’t be black and watching TV in your apartment.
To some white people, you can’t be black.

WHOA!

Published May 9, 2020 by Nan Mykel

I Just learned that Mike Pence’s press secretary (who tested positive for the virus) is a woman!  Guess they don’t eat lunch together…

My self-therapy therapist just said I need to cool it, so I’m going underground.

I don’t need that commercial of the smiling man being coaxed into jumping into the fire. Or the sad pound dogs.

…I know that those who’re wanting to go on a virtual safari aren’t really angry at the animals!

I think I told you once that when as a kid I asked my grandmother if we hated Hitler.  She said “No, we just hate his ways.”  Okay, then…

SELF THERAPY session 4

T= Therapist

T: Back so soon, I see.

Me:  If I don’t go forward I’ll be sucked back.

T:  Still talking metaphors.

Me:  I can’t mess with lah-ti-dah.  This is real!

T:  What have you done for you?

Me: I’m meeting my goal with the booklet.

T: Has that helped?

Me: At least it’s given me a string from day to day.

T:  Good for you [us].

Me: But then I read he was mad at the Post Office for not charging more!

T:  Pure evil?

Me: Yes…And before you ask, there’s something else I’m going to try.

T: Oh?

Me: My arms are getting skeletal and as much as I hate it, I’m going to try and exercise maybe 5 minutes a day.

T:   You should be able to have a success with that goal, also.

Me:  But I’m concerned about my growing paranoia.

T:  Growing?

Me: Yes, I can see myself becoming suspicious of just about everybody and every thing.

T: Is it paranoia or the truth?

Me:  It’s even worse if paranoia is the truth.

T:  Hmmn…You’ve already said that you won’t outlive the effects of this plague.  Can you make just a little fun for yourself in your final days?

Me: I’ll certainly have to meditate on that…
