I DUNNO…
Published July 15, 2017 by Nan Mykel
I guess everybody in the world knows this, but facebook has a gadget that can and will print your name under an un-named photo of you in a picture you post without name specficity if they have an identified photo of you anywhere in their annals. It recently spotted two of my daughters in a group shot and printed their names, which means that all their “friends” got a copy of my photo, too..
But hey–that means if a spy they’e trying to catch has ever appeared on facbook wih his name–however incidental–“they” can later name him based on his photo alone. Neat, huh? Huh…
I JUST DIED
Published July 11, 2017 by Nan MykelI JUST DIED
What’s it like? Like nothing else.
I’m liquid, and by the way I am we, not me.
Not gotten used to it yet
It’s kinda like I’m my own blood stream
–or, I mean we are. Life is everywhere,
and alive. We were like bumps, sticking
out of the stew. Now we are
interchangeable, if that makes any sense.
Shut your eyes and feel the force field?
We are it.

scholars such as Claire Colebrook, Rosi Braidotti and Tim Morton. Their work investigates how the category of humanity is formed and sustained – largely through literary, artistic and social practices. They actively question the validity of this category and the extent to which it should be protected or retrenched.
Ed Berger: The Stealth Coup to Destroy the American Dream
Published July 10, 2017 by Nan MykelThe Citizens United Supreme Court decision sure made it easier for these gentlemen to Increase their demongoguery tenfold!
Ed Berger, a retired teacher who lives in Arizona and is active in the struggle to save public schools, has written a powerful post about the billionaire-funded movement to destroy our democracy.
It begins like this. I urge you to read it all:
“Within the core of our freedoms, lie the avenues powerful individuals use to take away the rights of citizens and the controls of government designed and evolved to serve all. Americans are now aware of the reality that subversive forces have made excessive headway in destroying our rights.
“What has been allowed is the incursion of an Oligarchy: The few exploiting the many. We are witnessing the theft of human rights through the infiltration of what were meant to be representative systems within a constitutionally defined government.
“My first introduction to those who want absolute power was through studies of The Robber Barons in America in the…

Kentucky: CBS News Reports that the DeVos Agenda Would Destroy Rural Public Schools
Published July 10, 2017 by Nan MykelI think Betsy DeVos wants to destroy public schools because she’s so deep into “us versus them.” She’s dehumanizing those less lucky and less wealthy, the “peons.”
CBS News aired a great segment on the importance of rural public schools. They are the heart of the community. CBS News went to an impoverished community in Appalachia and interviewed students and the principal, who is also the school bus driver. The small rural public school in Letcher County doesn’t need competition. Most of its students live below the poverty line, yet the school is one of the best in the state.
Nine million children across the nation attend rural schools.
Why does Betsy DeVos want to destroy them?
Hello, Senator Mitch McConnell. These are your constituents!
NOTICE
Published July 9, 2017 by Nan MykelThe FCC wants to destroy net neutrality and give big cable companies control over what we see and do online. If they get their way, they’ll allow widespread throttling, blocking, censorship, and extra fees. On July 12th, the Internet will come together to stop them.
Always Apologizing, Me
Published July 9, 2017 by Nan MykelWhen I first started blogging folks were curious why I had trouble posting to d’Verse. I found out w
hy: I was trying to post my poem from the page I wrote it on which wasn’t a page, I guess, but a dashboard.
I think I’ve discovered another innocent error involving my pages. I have 15 or 16 pages and no one told me how to get material on those pages. So, when I come across something that I have a page for, I post it there and not on my main blog. Even if I’ve re-blogged, I post it on the relevant page. I’m going to pause in this post now and explore more about what and how I do it and maybe someone can tell me how I should do it. I’ll be back…
Before Us – Meunier re-blog
Published July 9, 2017 by Nan MykelOutstanding!
to awaken
into death
is the dream
none dare brandish
listless, heavy-lidded
landslide
in somnolous languor
beholden to the mercy
of a cursed blink
and the blinding
of our blackest truth
laid out
to die
before us
