In the end, we accepted common Balkan dream: get a job and move to Germany or Austria. The period of sending applications had begun.

We’ve sent thousands and thousands of applications, and the only, although very rare, answers were in the form:
“Oh, we are so sorry we didn’t choose you, please don’t take it personally, we just had so many applications and for the moment we can not offer you any job. But please, do not let our negative answer got you thinking that your knowledge is not good enough, or to affect your self-esteem in any way.”

At first, we were happy with any kind answer. For, as I mentioned before, we come from one of former Yugoslavia republic and here, where we come from, they don’t even bother to open your application letter. It is a land of arranged businesses and sending an application just proves that…

At 79, I was just about to stop keeping a journal, but that felt like accepting that growth was finished. I don't want to be finished, yet! I'm 80 now, and struggling to communicate with you, if you'll come and set awhile. P.S. My how time flies! I'm 82 now.
