The Joke’s on Me

Published October 3, 2017 by Nan Mykel

Wow! I came close to losing it tonight. My helper was visiting and I thought it would be funny to have a photo of a crocodile among the several photos on my gravatar.  She helped me go ahead and make the crocodile my avatar so  (I thought)  whenever I had a particular kind of post I could use that one for my avatar.

Later, after that was completed, I happened to look at some of my comments and they ALL — back to the beginning of my blog about two years ago–had my picture as a crocodile!  In case you’re wondering, this was almost the  photo of me presented to the world with sweet blogs as well as raunchy ones:

So, in over reaction to my close call, I’ve at least temporarily changed it to me, in pink, tra la!

I FEEL A NEW BLOG COMING ON

Published October 2, 2017 by Nan Mykel

The current one stays, but I’m increasingly attracted to political postings and don’t want to drive those sick of politics away.

I’ll let you know when it springs, full-grown, into the WordPress pool.

I CAN’T SAY NOTHING AND DON’T WANT TO OFFEND OR BORE MY LOVELY FOLLOWERS!   No, I didn’t get this black eye fighting the good fight, only a conk while checking my oil many years ago, but it does portray another  part of me, n’est pas?

As my post on September 30, 2017 describes, this may be my version of LOONEY.

Don’t even think about calling yourself pro-life if…

  • You support taking health insurance away from low income, sick, and disabled people.
  • You support abolishing or cutting Medicaid (which covers HALF of all pregnant women and 45 million children).
  • You  support privatizing or cutting Medicare and Social Security.
  • You want to abolish Planned Parenthood, which is NOT an abortion clinic (only 2% of their services are abortion-related) but provides healthcare (including pregnancy care) and birth control information to low income women.
  • You’re OK with a president who allowed CHIP (a health insurance program for low income children who do not qualify for Medicaid) to expire, leaving millions of children uninsured.
  • You support dismantling public schools.
  • You think programs like Meals on Wheels and school lunches are a waste of taxpayer money.
  • You think climate change is a hoax.
  • You support fracking, drilling, and mining on our public lands.
  • You believe in…
