Dead Men’s Bones and Me

Actually, I spend much of my time in a healthy manner, contemplating dead men’s withered bones:

“Wenn schnode Wollust dich erfullt,

So werde durch ein Schreckensbild

Verdorrter Totenknochen

Der Kitzel unterbrochen.”

[“When base lust fills thy thoughts,

Let a horrible picture rise before thy mind

Of withered dead men’s bones,

So let the sensual stimulation be driven away.”]

(Sorry, author unknown). SCRATCH THAT!  It’s by Anja Christine Belemann-Smit, thanks to cousin Barbara!

About Nan Mykel

At 79, I was just about to stop keeping a journal, but that felt like accepting that growth was finished. I don't want to be finished, yet! I'm 80 now, and struggling to communicate with you, if you'll come and set awhile. P.S. My how time flies! I'm 82 now.

That quote might be from a Calvinist reformer!

I suspect it’s from a female. My cousin referred me to German entries on Amazon and tho I don’t know what they said, I got a page translated and think it’s by Anja Christine, as now added to my post. Thanks for the good suggestion, however!
