KEITH WILSON SAYS on musingsofanoldfart: I need to pick my battles. And, I suggest each of you do the same. We should follow our passions and make our voice known when we disagree with the decisions made. But, we cannot fight everything, so be choosy.
I (NAN) am trying to pick my battle. FOR INSTANCE:
At the end of what will probably be the hottest year in recorded history, with extreme weather driven by climate change wreaking havoc around the globe, the world is confronting a second Trump term.
On the campaign trail, Trump continued to call climate change a hoax, said he would pull out of the Paris accord again, pledged to expand oil and gas production and roll back pollution controls, and threatened to eliminate federal incentives that promote renewable energy and electric vehicles. (I would choose this cause but feel it’s doomed due to the next president’s strong anti stance and stated active plans to hurry the end. And they want us to have more babies to roast?!)

POLITICS OF CULTURAL DESPAIR
Dr. John Persico (via Aging Capriciously) posted Chris Hedges’ https://open.substack.com/pub/chrishedges/p/the-politics-of-cultural-despair?r=zfnvi&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email, Still being a “newbie” after nine years, I can only refer you to Dr. Persico’s blog and let you try. Hedges’ blog seems quite apt. As Word Press changes its procedures, I fall back.

Unfortunately, I doubt that I can limit myself to one cause. I think it’s too late for climate change, the Supreme Court and abortions, even the Corporations, but surely not too late to take on Women for Liberty? And I cannot even imagine being forced to resent unwanted foetuses! I have 4 children, all wanted. And I am obviously no longer fertile, but if I were I would possibly go around saying “Gay,” for spite. And I suspect I’ll be against whatever Musk is wanting from Trump. Going against the richest man in the world? Rots o’ Ruck!

with open heart and a healthy
muse, awaiting the bursting
forth of a metaphor reflecting
that in life which is soulful,
gentle, appreciative of both
nature and humanity,
loving justice, honesty and the
milk of human kindness,
but which arrives full blown
as….otherwise.

Excellent musings, Nan … and thank you so much for linking to my post! I greatly appreciate it. These will be the times that try all our souls, and I have no doubt that we will have many, many issues with the oncoming freight train known as the incoming administration! Together, we’ll get through it and do whatever we can to bring about sanity … and hopefully keep our own sanity!
