I don’t know if you know the writer Doris Lessing. Or her work rather. I found a short story of hers once telling how her heart was stuck to her hand. I remember the phrase: ”… and there it was, bleeding all over …” She was on a train. The harder she tried to get rid of it the more stuck it became. Until eventually she gave it to someone and it came off her hand quite easily …
